Dinner from a sausage stand in downtown Prague...
According to the travel guides, you should avoid restaurants with menus in English in order to get an authentic experience. However, those guides were written for people live surrounded by America on all sides. We do not. So we enjoyed every bite of Americana we could: bagel sandwiches, coffee drinks to-go, Philly cheesesteaks, fountain drinks, Tex-Mex... Prague was delicious. For the record, we did also have goulash and dumplings, grilled bratwurst (see photos!) and kolache pastries. Jonathan remembers eating these pastries, made by his neighbor, so we kept an eye out for them and found some great blueberry and apricot kolaches.
...serving excellent brats and onions.
From the windows of the apartment we could see the green grass of small parks, a nice perk in a big city full of people. People who like to hang out in the parks into late at night sometimes :) Jonathan and I had no problem tuning out the noise since we're used to hearing our very lively neighborhood all night long, but for Chris and Kate and my parents it was a change from their usual.
Cathedral of Saint Vitus on the Prague Castle grounds
The downtown area was just a quick tramway ride from our apartment, which was fan-diddly-astic after loooong days of walking and exploring. Bonus point for Prague: many of the best-known sites are centrally located. That's not to say you don't hoof it a lot, but only because there's so much to see. Let me say that again. There. is. so. much. to. see. I'll be hungry for more Prague for a long time.

Considering it's a major city and tourist magnet in the summer, I was very impressed at how clean (ie. dog poop free) Prague is.

Jonathan's favorite spot: the Strahov Library at the monastery. We got in just before closing time and were able to see both the theoligical and philosophical halls. For more on it, see here.

Snack time! Who's hungry?
The Estates Theatre, the very site where Amadeus Mozart conducted the world premiere of Don Giovanni in 1787. Kate went to see a performance at the Estates one night. She's more cultured than the rest of us ;)

See how stretched out our arms got from carrying those heavy bags all over? Just kidding - it's a fun mirror. I know you were worried.
A beautiful shot of us in another mirror (the short-squatty one)
And a lovely photo of my parents
